Overview
UrgentBell helps you alert friends using an “Urgent Bell” and receive quick responses (Busy/Coming).
To make urgent alerts reliable, the app uses high-priority notifications, vibration, sound, and may wake the device screen depending on system capabilities.
We collect only the minimum information required to provide core features such as authentication, friend connections, notification delivery, and recent response status.
Information We Collect
Account information: name, email address, and unique user ID (via Firebase Authentication).
Device notification token: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used to deliver notifications.
Friend connection data: friend requests and accepted connections.
Cooldown data: sender/receiver IDs and timestamps to prevent spam.
Response status data: Busy/Coming status and timestamp for a short period.
Basic diagnostics (non-sensitive): crash logs and performance data.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect precise location.
We do not access contacts, call logs, SMS, photos, camera, or microphone.
We do not record audio or video.
We do not sell personal information.
How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account.
To send urgent bell notifications and responses.

Permissions We Request & Why
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: to show notifications.
VIBRATE: to vibrate during alerts.
WAKE_LOCK: to wake device for urgent alerts.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM: for accurate alert timing.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE: for reliable background alert handling.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK: to ensure alert sound plays properly.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: used only if enabled by the user for special alert display behavior on supported devices.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: to restore alerts after device restart.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: to control alert sound behavior.
DISABLE_KEYGUARD: to allow alerts to appear on lock screen on supported devices.
Notifications & Lock Screen Behavior
Urgent alerts are delivered using high-priority notifications.
Notifications may appear on the lock screen depending on your device settings.
The app may wake the screen to ensure visibility of important alerts.
You can control notification behavior from system settings.
Battery Optimization
Some devices may restrict background activity due to battery optimization.
For reliable alert delivery, you may need to disable battery optimization manually from system settings.
This is optional but recommended for proper functionality.
Service Providers (Firebase)
We use Firebase for authentication, database, and notifications.
These services process data on our behalf securely.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information.
We share data only as needed to provide the service.
We may share data if required by law.
Data Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active.
Temporary data (status/cooldown) is stored briefly.
Data is deleted when no longer needed unless legally required.
Delete Your Data (In-App)
You can delete your account from inside the app.
All related data will be removed within a reasonable time.
